On Labor Day, Momma, Emma, and I headed down to Blythewood to visit with Mary Matheson and Will...Emma and Will had a great time playing together, we ate lunch, and then we headed to EdVenture (pretty much like Discovery Place). We had a great time, and it was so much fun to watch what intrigued and intimidated Emma. She is really trying to figure out the whole fantasy vs. reality thing, and milking the cow was not in her comfort zone until another child came up and did it (Mommy didn't suffice). She was very fearful of the realistic fireman figure that was fully geared up too...even when I knocked and tried to tell her he wasn't real. Still clinging to me for dear life. It is always an amazing privelege to watch my baby girl take on life and process things. They had a big bubble exhibit too; we LOVE bubbles!! Of course she really enjoyed rubbing her hands in the soapy mix. After taking MM and Will home, we headed back to thrill to try out some doves Ben had shot, cleaned, and grilled. I was just thankful he took care of dinner (I'm not doing too well with food these days, especially meat)...they were pretty good, though some tasted a bit too bloody to me. Trying game while sensitive to smell and taste and having a queasy stomach is a bit difficult. : ) He did a good job though (even if he did kill several poor bird's mates).
