Our annual trip to Garden City was WONDERFUL but very different! I'm not sure vacations are really vacations in the sense we're used to for the next several years! We did have lots of help with Emma, but the sleeping in was cut out as well as the coming and going as you please. It was, however, so fun and special to take my own child to the place I've grown up going! She loved the beach and made her way to the sand no matter how hard we tried to keep her out of it...she even made it to her mouth with sand a few times. : ) We took tons of pictures but oddly enough not enough pictures. The bottom picture is of Emma while we trying to pack. We're working hard on this crawling thing but only have backward motion for now...which is how she got under our bed! You can see her cousin Will sleeping on the beach too...thankfully it was not as hard for us to get Emma to nap (though it got harder as the week went on) this year. I imagine she'll be trying to avoid it as much as Will next Summer. The plaid outfit and the striped bathing suit Emma has on in the pictures were her Aunt Mary's!

it is very hard to get a toddler to sleep at the beach. but i'm glad she did well. katie will love the picture of her with the baseball. hehe!
Yes, baseballs are great. Good job! And no, vacation will never be the same. We are always so worn out from vacations now instead of rested! It just takes on a different meaning. I love watching Cameron play with his cousins and interact with the family instead of sleeping in and laying on the beach all day. Now we are running on the beach all day :)
